The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it reached carpet or rugs.
The docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 cleaning sessions, but this will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating efficiently. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets.
